THANK YOU!
We hope you find this list helpful. We will email you a copy of "4 Things Therapists Can do TODAY to address Race-Based Trauma" or you can download directly here.
Dr. Chinwe Williams and Erica Bonham are also creating an online course: "Healing Racial Trauma with Somatic Therapy" In it, we will take a deeper dive into how to use somatic therapy to help clients heal from race-based trauma.
What you will learn from this course:
* Participants will gain a greater understanding of understanding Race-Based Trauma and how to incorporate somatic therapies like EMDR into the healing process.
* Participants will learn what it means to move from cultural competence to anti-racist (ie. also moving away from white saviorism)
* Participants will learn tools to reflect on their own identity, bias, and privilege so as not to do harm to their clients in the therapeutic process.
* Participants will learn somatic interventions to help address generational trauma.
* Participants will learn what the difference is between “not being racist” and “being anti-racist.”
* Participants will learn how to identify more of their own blind spots and become more conscious and aware of their own implicit biases.
* Participants will learn how to assess for racial trauma in finding trauma targets and incorporate anti-racist cognitive interweaves and interventions when clients are stuck.
* Participants will learn specific resources for race-based trauma that can help clients widen the window of tolerance for reprocessing and healing from trauma.
